Hi! I’m Ruby and I will be your trainer today.
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to help animals, always saving up pocket money to donate to different rescue organisations and dreaming of aiding animals in need. As a 12 year old I began volunteering for a private horse rescue; seeing the transformations of these horses and watching them flourish under a gentle hand ignited a passion of animal behaviour and positive reinforcement (+R) training. As I got older, I then worked in one of Australia’s largest open-intake animal shelters for multiple years, leading me to find a special interest in the “dangerous and aggressive” dog department which drove me to pursue studying a Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour & Training.
Seeing firsthand within the industry how unregulated the training industry is, I decided to branch out on my own and began The Pawsitive Canine to offer my qualified services to the general public, an experience I have found incredibly fulfilling. I hold a current membership and accreditation with IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers), have a current ABN, insurance and WWWC.
